As you may have seen, from the 1stJune 2019 the tenant fee ban was enforced, but what exactly can, and can’t I be charge for?
What can I be charged for?
- Late payment of rent
- Lost keys or fobs
- Ending your tenancy early
- Changing or assigning your tenancy
- Renewing your tenancy
What can’t I be charged for?
- Referencing
- Administration
- Credit or immigration checks
You may still be charged a holding deposit, for utilities or a tenancy deposit however there are now stricter rules in place to protect tenants.
