What is this new word ‘Build to Rent’ and what does it mean for you?

Build to Rent or BTR for short is a new concept of renting brought over from the USA, overseas it is better known as Multi Family. In the UK the BTR market is booming, especially in Manchester and London where new buildings are popping up at record speed! But what does this mean for you and me? Bustle explains the differences and why this new concept could change your life!

Differences

There are many differences that BTR has to offer, traditionally you would be renting with a landlord in a shabby old apartment block, struggling to have essential maintenance works completed and maybe facing a surprise eviction! Not anymore! BTR usually has one Landlord, in-house maintenance teams and front of house staff located in the building ready to assist in your every whim! Often lifestyle and community are at the heart of what they do, meaning you can bring your pet, socialise with fellow residents and take part in organised events put on by the staff.

To conclude, the differences are many, much more bang for you buck!

Amenities

As you enter these new fabulously decorated apartment buildings, you will often find an array of amenities spaces. Check out some of the different buildings in your area, you may come across on-site gyms, roof terraces, lounges, meeting rooms and cinema rooms to name a few. All these spaces are great for creating that community feel which has been lots in more recent years.

Downside?

You may be thinking this is too good to be true! However, as with an increased staff presents and running cost for having many on site features, the cost of renting does come at a premium and possibly the higher end of your budget. BUT with new buildings offering an array of extras such a free broadband and no gym membership, this cost can certainly be justified!
