For those of you who haven’t played Secret Santa for a while, here’s a refresher course. The basic rules are simple. Each participant places their name in a box, hat or similar container. Next, the names are mixed up and each person selects one from the container without telling anyone else whose name they drew. Each person is then secretly responsible for buying their chosen recipient a gift.

Bustle are running the first ever city-wide community secret Santa, apartment buildings in the area can have the opportunity to join, what we think will be the biggest secret Santa ever!

Instead of names in hat we will use our online portal to collect the names, you will be given a stranger to buy a gift for £10.00 or under using only a few bits of information! Santa (Bustle) will then deliver the presents to your community where you can find out what you have received!

Have you been naughty or nice? Bustle doesn’t mind, you will get a present no matter what!

What is this new word ‘Build to Rent’ and what does it mean for you?

Build to Rent or BTR for short is a new concept of renting brought over from the USA, overseas it is better known as Multi Family. In the UK the BTR market is booming, especially in Manchester and London where new buildings are popping up at record speed! But what does this mean for you and me? Bustle explains the differences and why this new concept could change your life!

With most properties now being listed online, it’s easy to find a property that meets your needs. However, with such a large selection to choose from, it’s worth taking the time to ask yourself exactly what you’re looking for before you seriously start looking; this will help you firm up your requirements and narrow the options more efficiently.

For many of us the idea of having a furry friend living with us in our rented apartment was a distant dream, unless we struck gold with a lenient landlord, we had no hope of our homes being complete with a little companion.

The good news is there has been a shift in attitudes and having a pet is no longer frowned upon, normally for an additional amount of Pet Rent, you can live in perfect harmony without the fear of eviction.

As a dog lover myself this option was a must when choosing my next place to live, I set about searching for a new apartment, along with my partner and Eric (The Frenchie). With many apartment buildings to choose from, managers of these buildings are not only Pet Friendly, but they offer several other benefits for your pet. Pet concierge, on site grooming stations and pet sitting facilities are now the norm!

Having a pet with you whilst living in a busy city can be enormous, you instantly become part of a community within your chose abode by meeting like minding individuals, even better should you be living alone or new to the city.

Check out Bustle’s Renting sections, where we will show you the top places to live in the city that are Pet Friendly!

Many new landlords/letting agents are now offering tenants the choice between paying the traditional hefty 5-week deposit, and the newer Zero Deposit option. But what does the new option entail, what are the costs and what does this mean during and post my tenancy?
